The Baltimore Sun recently wrote an article on cat eye glasses for women. This article was based off the video of an eyewear fashion show that featured a wide range of vintage cat eye glasses straight from the 1950’s. Back during that decade, cat eye glasses frames were quite the luxury for those that could afford it. They often came in a variety of colors and sizes.
Some of the glasses frames featured in the video were either narrow or they were quite wide. No matter the size, the glasses featured in Midweek Madness had the ability to make the wearer appear very regal and stand out from the others. The style of these glasses for women were often very sophisticated at that time and they were ideal for someone who wanted to get a pair of glasses that no one else around them had. One pair of glasses that caught my fancy was the cat eye glasses that had black colored frames with a floral design. I personally love the black and white look, as they make me appear very professional and classy.
Although the 1950s have long gone passed by, their legacy still lives on through individuals who crave a unique and vintage look for their everyday apparel as they go on with their daily lives.
