Top colors dominating fashion for fall/winter 2013

PANTONE TALKS

FALL 2013 COLOR

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for fall/winter 2013 is in full swing — and we're loving what we're seeing on the runway, especially the colors. Luckily, Pantone has broken down the top colors designers are using in their new collections.

Pantone Fashion Color Report
It's not surprising that designers are embracing Pantone's Color of the Year for 2013 — Emerald — as a staple in their collections. What's so awesome, though, is that designers are also opting for other rich, fall-friendly colors.
"Just as the leaves change in autumn, the consumer will enjoy the ability to change their 'look' and try a new approach to their wardrobe for brisk days ahead," Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, told SheKnows. "The fall 2013 palette allows for that versatility and experimentation."
Pantone officials told SheKnows that designers like Tracy Reese (Michelle Obama fave), Tommy Hilfiger,Jenny Packham, Herve Leger and Nanette Lepore favor colors like the yellow-toned Linden Green, Mykonos Blue, Acai, Samba and Koi for their jaw-dropping creations.
Our favorites? Let's just say we can't wait to see Turbulence, Vivacious and Carafe grace our fall wardrobes. We'll definitely be pairing the brights like Emerald with shades of purple or Samba red.

Men's fashion

Pantone Color Report 2013 Men's Colors
We're all over the unisex look — and it seems like more and more designers are recognizing that with their fall 2013 collections. Not surprisingly, Pantone reports that a lot of the men's clothing features the same tones as women's — including Acai, Koi and Emerald — along with other rich hues like Beaujolais and Deep Lichen Green.
The key to pulling these colors off? Balance the vibrant hues like with neutral colors like Turbulence and Carafe.
