A Collection of 2013 Women's Fashion

Up to now, the shop trends concerning femine new fashion are found to be numerous. The following is a collection of this year's women's fashion, and through which, striking new fashion styles are to be revealed.

Grey Tone

F/W 12, a tonal palette that eliminates hints of other colors will replace the hybrid grey and polished metallic colors that brought contrast and vigor to F/W 11 and S/S 12. This smooth and soft range adheres to monochromatic tones of rain, pewter and neutral grey.

Arterial Reds

F/W 12 will darken further towards intense reds like racecar, picante and zinfandel with a sticky and fermented feel.

The integral functions of the human body will merge with the natural world in a range of rich reds. Burgundy and zinfandel have earthy qualities while ruby wine and picante involve lighter brown tones, creating a rusty and woody feel. Bright and intense reds in racecar or orange variations echo the powerful heart and muscles.

My Boyfriend's Back!

F/W 12 sees the return of long, boxy, oversized and effortlessly chic "boyfriend" jackets — an alternative to the more fitted perfectly tailored blazer. Strong shoulders are key, whether defined with shoulder pads or extended sleeveless styles, and hemlines end below the hips.

Golden Shades

Harvest hues recall the evolution of nature and the color changes that accompany cycles of life. Warm spice, cashew and bran establish a granular base, lightened by murky colors of honey mustard, oil yellow and antelope. Bright accents like golden apricot, citrus and freesia represent ripeness and fullness, recalling fields of golden wheat and corn.

Purple Fashion

The smoky twilight shades of F/W 11 continue a cool, electric feel in S/S 12 with shades of lavender, orchid and grape. F/W 12 will darken considerably, revealing a duo of rich blackberry and burgundy, contrasting against matte elderberry.

The Clean Cape

The cape was a dramatic outerwear alternative in the 50s through 70s, but not until recently has it had the casual appeal that fully integrates it into women's wardrobes.

The new clean cape is cut from firm woolens or twills which hold the tailored shape, or is fashioned from softer double-knits and cashmeres for a slouchier approach.

Small collars or collarless necklines and simple arm slits maintain the clean silhouette, while lapels or trench details add more dimension.

The Wedge Bootie

Wedge Booties create a high impact shape for fall. A contrast lug sole adds instant grit or wooden outsoles for a lighter, more casual statement. Suede and leather texture, and platform constructions are key.

The Textured Topper

Specialty fabrics, luxe touches and easy fit make the textured topper a key item for polished layered looks. The buttonless, boxy cut offers a forgiving yet tailored option. Lightly constructed, and with darts at the bust for a bit of definition, this jacket becomes the new cardigan. Mélange and tweedy wool blends with a touch of shimmer or bold color flecks work best for fall & winter, while quilted cotton or matelassé are ideal for transition. Leather details added, folksy embroideries and handworked embellishments are elevated.

The Boxy Shift

The boxy shift evolves the classic shift dress with straight, squared lines. The defined silhouette is kept above-the-knee, with minimal, considered details. Wide, elbow-length sleeves look fresh, and pieced constructions create a two-fer effect.

Color-blocking and contrast borders or trim add simple interest, while bold allover motifs have a vaguely retro feel. Shirttail hem is key for the upcoming seasons. Firmly woven fabrics or leather holds shape, while silk offers a softer take.

The Chic Backpack

The women's fashion backpack is having a moment, re-entering the women's/junior's arena with a new silhouette. Pyramid shapes narrow towards the top, and incorporate north-south proportions.

Gold chains with interlocked fabric serve as straps, while quilted surfaces, handbag-type closures and ornamental zipper pulls add a feeling of luxury. Key fabrics include vibrant leather and suede, as well as velvet and tweed. Exterior pockets and drawstring closures add easy-to-reach functionality.
